If you have recently booked a cruise with Holland America and you didn’t book the Have It All package with your cruise, you will probably want to know what your options are for drink packages.
While the Have it All package will always be your best overall value, there are some other options that may make more sense for you, depending on your cruise length, itinerary and how much you drink.
Here are the drink packages available to you on Holland America Line:

Holland America Have It All Package
We can’t start discussing drink packages without at least first mentioning the Have it All package. If you have booked a cruise that is longer than 6 days in duration (excluding Grand Voyages), you will have the option of purchasing a Have it All package. This package includes the following:
- Signature Beverage Package (see below for details)
- Wi-Fi Surf Package
- Shore Excursion Credit:
- $100 US for 6-9 day cruises
- $200 US for 10-20 day cruises
- $300 US for 21 days or more
- Specialty Dining Credit
- 1 Night for 6-9 day cruises
- 2 Nights for 10-20 day cruises
- 3 Nights for 21 days or more
Price as of August 2023: $99 US per person per day, but currently on sale for $50 US per person per day.
At the sale price it is a no-brainer! If you have booked a Holland America cruise or are considering booking a Holland America cruise, just go ahead and buy the Have it All package. The Wi-Fi surf package on its own is $29.99 US per day, so even if you only drink a couple of drinks a day, this will be worth it.
Holland America Elite Beverage Package
Similar to Princess Cruises’ Premier Package or Celebrity Cruises’ Premium Package, Holland America Line’s Elite Beverage Package includes the higher priced alcoholic beverages and all non-alcoholic beverages up to $15 US.
While there is a limit of 15 alcoholic beverages per day with this package, there is no limit on the number of non-alcoholic drinks. Additional details:
- Must purchase for entire duration of cruise
- Excludes Mini Bar, Room Service, Chocolate Seduction, and Half Moon Cay
- All guests over the age of 21 in the stateroom must purchase the package
- Underage guests in same stateroom must purchase Quench Package (see below)
- May be purchased prior to sailing and on first 2 days of cruise only
- Includes access to Freestyle soda machine
- Only available on cruises that are 3 days or longer in duration
Holland America Signature Beverage Package
The Signature Beverage Package offered by Holland America Line is the same beverage package that is included with the Have it All Package. This beverage package includes all beverages up to $11 US.
The only other difference between this package and the Elite Package is that this package limits the drinks to 15 a day, whether they are alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages.
Price as of August 2023: $44.95 US + 18% service charge pre-cruise ($53.04 per day), or $54.95 US + 18% service charge onboard ($64.84 per day).
If you think that your drink total of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks will be more than 15, you should probably upgrade to the Elite Package.
To make this easier on you, Holland America allows you to upgrade from the Signature Package to the Elite Package once onboard the ship on the first day of your cruise. Cost to upgrade is $10 US + 18% service charge per day ($11.80). So by my math, while it may be simple to upgrade, this is not a great deal as you will be paying more than if you just purchased the Elite Package to begin with.
Holland America Quench Beverage Package
This is the all-inclusive non-alcoholic drink package offered by Holland America, and includes the following:
- Mocktails
- Juices
- Bottles of Water (up to 400ml)
- Specialty coffees from Explorations Café
- Sodas
This beverage package also has a limit of 15 beverages per day.
Price as of August 2023: $17.95 US +18% service charge per day ($21.18).
Holland America Unlimited Soda Beverage Package
The Unlimited Soda Package is exactly what is sounds like, unlimited soda for the duration of your cruise. This package naturally includes access to the Freestyle soda machine.
If you drink soda like it is water, then this is the right package for you.
Price as of August 2023: $8.00 US + 18% service charge per day ($9.44).
Water Packages & Beverage Cards
In addition to the above drink packages, Holland America offers a couple of water package options:
- 6 Bottles of Acqua Panna (1 liter size) delivered to your stateroom for $27.60 US
- 12 x 16 ounce premium aluminum bottles of Open Water delivered to your stateroom for $48.30.
And in case you aren’t interested in any packages, but do want to pre-pay for beverages, the following beverage cards may be purchased:
- $50 Non-Alcoholic Beverage Card
- $50 Beverage Card (Alcoholic or Non-Alcoholic)
- $100 Beverage Card (Alcoholic & Non-Alcoholic)
- $250 Beverage Card (Alcoholic & Non-Alcoholic)
Which Drink Package is the Best Deal?
If you like to enjoy cocktails and specialty coffees and other beverages while on vacation and you don’t want to have another bill to pay on the last day, then you should definitely purchase a package. But what package is the best deal?
I will always recommend the Have it All Package over any of the other packages, as it provides the most value for what you are getting. Even if you are paying full price of $100 US per day, it is a huge savings compared to paying for each item individually.
So if you have booked a Holland America Line cruise and are weighing your options, now is the time to purchase the Have it All package as it is being offered for half-price right now!
